AI Privacy and Security Policy

Effective date: March 13, 2026

At AssessPrep, we believe that Artificial Intelligence (AI) should empower educators, not replace them. We recognize that when schools trust us with their data, they are trusting us with their students' learning journeys. That is why we have built AssessPrep AI with a foundation of transparency, security, and human oversight.

Our AI tools are exclusively available to teachers; students do not have access to generative AI within AssessPrep. Every AI feature we develop is designed to save you time, enhance your creativity, and support and never supplant an educator's judgment.

Our AI Partners

AssessPrep AI is powered by best-in-class large language models (LLMs) from leading providers. We use a combination of advanced models like:

  • OpenAI (GPT)

  • Anthropic (Claude),

  • Google (Gemini).

We continuously evaluate and select the highest-performing models for specific educational tasks to ensure optimal results. We integrate with these third-party services through secure API connections, transmitting only minimal contextual information without any personally identifiable information (PII).

Guiding Principles for Responsible AI
AssessPrep AI is thoughtfully designed and guided by five essential principles to ensure responsible innovation:

  • Human in the Loop: We design our AI features to augment, not automate, professional judgment. AI suggestions are generated strictly as drafts for educators to review, edit, or reject. Whether grading, translating, or generating questions, every AI output requires explicit teacher approval before reaching students. The AI provides possibilities; educators make the final call.

  • Configurable & Reversible: We recognize that different schools have different comfort levels with AI. Administrators have granular permission controls to enable or disable AI features for specific users, allowing schools to maintain full autonomy over how and when AI is used. Features can even be disabled for individual schools upon request.

  • Transparent Feature Labeling: Transparency is non-negotiable. There are no "black boxes" on our platform. Every feature utilizing AI is explicitly labeled in the user interface (e.g., "Generate with AI" or "Grade with AI") so users always know when they are interacting with an AI tool.

  • Audit Logging: We maintain comprehensive audit logs for all AI-related activity to ensure accountability and compliance. School administrators can request a secure export of these logs to monitor usage patterns, verify appropriate use, and conduct internal audits.

  • Privacy by Default & Data Minimized: Our AI systems are built on principles of data minimization. When processing API requests, we do not transmit student names, IDs, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information to AI providers. Teacher identity information is strictly protected in the exact same manner.

    Content Validation and Safety
To ensure the quality and safety of AI-generated content, we have implemented a robust validation process. This includes:

  • Strict prompt guardrails and automated filters to prevent harmful content.

  • Continuous evaluation and testing of AI outputs across diverse curricula and multiple languages to identify and mitigate bias.

  • Regular vulnerability scanning and security testing on our API integrations to ensure secure data transmission.
